This time yesterday I was nervous, and there was a lot to come, of which I'd have no idea how it'd play out.
I went into the management review nervous, chilled out while in there, it got a little away from me at times, but overall it went well. There was definitely sections that were repeated, and it needs streamlining. I know what I need to do.
Then I came out, got on with stuff for an hour and headed home. I made some food, chatted to Rachael, and got some thoughts together for a podcast with Dom. Then we chatted and recorded, and it was a good time. The podcast can be found at this handy link!
I then set about editing and uploading it, all while consuming content and trying to figure out what I wanted to do.
I figured out I'd like to play some Diablo and try and complete a GR70 and get that nailed on the head. So I jumped in, played two GR70s missing the time by two and three minutes, and just got some rewards from that and ran some regular nephalem rifts so I could re-roll pieces of equipment I use to make those small increments of strength.
Well, I tried one more, got to 50% of the enemies killed with 9mins 30 to go, had 3 instances where two golds stacked on top of one another, or a gold was mixed in with a blue pack. I get to the boss and I have 4 minutes to take it out. I paused the game. Walked away. It was an easy boss, that moves very little, and has a moderate amount of health, and no specific AoE moves. I unpause and move forward, planning my moves out carefully, staring at the status and effects bars, to ensure I'm doing maximum damage, and slowly but surely I see the health bar dropping. I took the boss down with 2 minutes 40 left and I was ecstatic. I got some alright rewards, and I completed yet another challenge in the game.
Then, it was pretty much time for sleep. So off I popped to sleepyland. And then I woke up. I found out that two people had had babies. I was very excited by this news, though both were very early. But everyone seemed happy and safe and it all seemed rather wondrous.
So I pottered into work, finding so many things to ignore as I went to an isolated desk to study, where I managed to finish covering all my course material. Another win on this insane 24 hours!
I then speak to my boss and come to an understanding and email him about a request we've been talking about for months. I get two emails in response. One confirming that I can have time off to go live with a certain someone in a certain America. And the other confirming that we're putting out an advert for another person in my lab so that we have cover for when I'm away.
All in all it's been a pretty great 24 hours. And I'm FU.
Have an excellent day! You're all my favourites!
