I've got a pretty detailed idea of what is needed for each aspect of gameplay, but comment below on additions and improvements!
I think the best way to go about this would be with Sprite Sheets, let me know if there is a better/easy way though.
Standing (around 5 images to create a loop) - subtle movements in Bea's hair and dress blowing in the wind
Standing After running (around 5 images) - when standing still after running Bea looks to be out of breath - created with a little bounce and head bob
Walking (around 5 images to create a loop)
Running (around 7 images to create a loop) - running will be performed whilst holding a button
Jumping (around 7 images to create a loop, back to standing still) - standing jump and running jump
Crawling (similar to walking, and the same amount of frames) - includes the transition from standing before and after
Climbing (around 10 images) - after jumping to climb something Bea pulls herself up onto the ledge and crawls to her feet once up
So they're all of the standard gameplay details.
I have some ideas of features that I'm not 100% on. Let us know your thoughts!
Bow and Arrow - halfway through the game Bea is gifted a bow to help defend herself, with the press of a button (X on the Xbox and E on the Keyboard) Bea equips the bow from her back. Holding down Left Trigger or the left mouse button an aiming line appears on screen - this shows where the arrow will fall. ------- something i thought would be interesting to include with this bow and arrow gameplay was that Bea only ever has 1 arrow - after she has shot it and elimanated the enemy she can walk over and pick it back up. This would mean we would need an 'arrow pick up' animation.
Something else I thought of was to add 1 or 2 moments in the game where you have to run away from a horde of enemies, creating a little chase sequence - running and jumping/sliding to get away from the enemies.
Anything to add?
