I guess project-related posts dried up here a bit as of late, as has actually working on projects in general. Lots of real life that's less than fun to talk about keeps interrupting and when I try to sit down to do things I find myself succumbing to blank screen syndrome (or worse, an acute outbreak of YouTube).
I am working on things though, and also stuff. For writing things I do have an idea for some sort subplot involving Reese and his hall mate not liking each other at all but it's all down to a basic misunderstanding (and Reese being kind of a dick as he's sometimes prone to be), but actually getting anything down (especially the initial steps) is proving to be a real struggle. I also had an idea involving somewhat heavier stuff (like Real Life Issues) but am wondering how far to push on that one without it being melodramatic or just plain obnoxious. I dunno, I kind of want somebody to talk to about writing, bounce ideas off, etc, but I also don't want anybody seeing any of this stuff until it's remotely ready for sharing!
As for drawing stuff I'm been doodling a lot on my iPad and am looking at assembling the resulting sketches into a sort of mini/proto-comic (like one of those 3 panel jobs you see in newspapers and the like). So that's getting me doing stuff like layout that I've not really done much of before (because you just don't need to for single frame drawings) and that I know I'll need to get a grip of to at least a basic extent if I ever want to get this project off the ground properly. On a sidenote, Procreate and the Apple Pencil are pretty nice, but they still play second fiddle to my big proper wacom, even if that thing's pushing 10 years old now and replacement parts for the pen (nibs, rubber grips, etc) are becoming scarce (and drivers that support it will probably cease to function in newer versions of OSX as they come out).
And I think that'll do for rambling!
