it was fun, but first. Anime Nerds are Fucking Weird. about 7 people were walking around with Free Hugs signs and they were getting free hugs. One person glomped me and another regular hugged me. Buncha freaks.
Anyway, since it was my first Con I decided to dress up as something and being the fat guy that I am I decided to go as Coop from MEGAS XLR.
Nice!
about 30 people recognized me and about 1/2 that photographed me, 2 got a pic with me. awesome, getting attention is fun. getting glomped, is just fucking weird.
I missed the ThatGuyWithTheGlasses panel cause it was overfull but did get the signatures of Linkara, Doug and Angry Joe (who said I had awesome hair) so that made up for it and then also got the signatures of all 4 Team Four Star guys. Nappa liked my Coop outfit and the way he signed his name was awesome. In the Nappa voice he sad "N A P um... P A, Yeah, that's how you spell it!"
if you're not laughing then re-read that in nappa's voice.
I played DJ Hero and damnit... it's a cool game and now I want it... goddamnit. The artist and vendor places to buy things were all anime/manga stuff so I wasn't Interested but that's where I got the most attention. I saw LittleKuriboh but didnt' meet him and I saw Kroze and Kroze saw me and called me Coop. when I first saw him I wasn't sure if it was him or not and didn't see him again till closing ceremonies. and those were fucking stupid. stupid as in IQ of 12.
The goodbyes were cool with all the guests and staff but it got weird. A chair was taken on stage and all the nerds started chanting CHAIR! CHAIR! CHAIR! then FISH FISH FISH and someone raised a fish above thier head and spun it around and everyone cheered. SERIOUSLY! WHAT THE FUCK!? After that the guy on stage said to get a Youmaconga line going out to the parking lot and then they made a big crowd of people outside the Hyatt chanting Youmacon over and over.
After that I went to Best Buy and picked up a new reicever for my surround sound system cause my old one broke. now I need a new sub woofer cause that doesn't work either.
I might be able to repair the receiver, but wouldn't have much use for it, and i do not have any powered sub woofers around anymore, i had to build the one i used for my main surround system(took apart older powered model that was broken and adapted it to new set of 6" drivers and pretty good sub oddly). i probably would if i had one around, sorry though.
