Spring Break is nearly over.

I haven't done Physics homework that's due Sunday night yet. Why the fuck would they make homework due the Sunday night of the conclusion of Spring Break? Asshole.

This past week, I have played a lot of NHL10 (one full season complete, plus a playoff series). Today I also went out and collected job applications, because dammit, I need to work this summer and I don't even care where anymore. I'm reapplying to Best Buy even. Dollar Tree? Fine, as long as they pay me.

I've also missed Brittany a lot, but less than I thought I would. That's good news, because she lives all the way on the other end of Pennsylvania and I may not see her at all this summer. But this past week was almost a preview of that, and we both got through it okay. Summer will be all right, I think. Especially if I can find a job to focus on.

The new(old) Pokemon games come out Sunday. On a scale of 1 to 10 I am like 1/0 amount of pumped for it. I also added DK64, Goldeneye, and Jet Force Gemini to my N64 arsenal for when I get back to school. So on the videogame front, life is lookin' good.

I am failing both Physics and Calculus while barely passing Chemistry, so it actually isn't looking promising that I'll get to go to town on all my new games. I'm gonna have to start being good at school instead. C'mon, summer break...

That's about where I stand now.

We're technically allowed to spell it defense and defence, but defencive is always wrong. My guess is that we started spelling defense wrong at some point, and instead of correcting ourselves we just added it to the list.

Agreed on pretty much every point. That first game against Latvia was beautiful, and contained maybe the fastest, most reflex-like puck movement I've ever seen, but it couldn't be applied against the giants. It's a massive factor in post-70s Olympics, where these teams are playing professional hockey until just a few days before their first international game with the team, and they get essentially no time to practise together. I was pleasantly stunned when the Canadians wound up being perfect matches for each other when the going got tough, and it's what won them the gold. Sure they had a good roster, but it was in no way dominant. They wound up winning on teamwork.

It's true that the KHL as a whole is a slower league with less overall talent, but superstars still exist. In fact, most of the KHL players on the Russian team played at one point in the NHL before getting tired of playing halfway around the world. Kalinin, Nikulin, Morozov, Kozlov, Radulov, Zinoviev, and Federov all come from NHL backgrounds, leaving Korneyev and Zaripov as the only KHL/Russian Elite League only players on their entire team. They really did have the best roster in the tournament, and I'd argue the best roster the world has ever seen, talent-wise. That they didn't play particularly well together was the only reason they weren't able to utterly dominate the Olympics.

I suppose it could be better stated that I had the time of my life during an otherwise completely boring trip.

Laughing wasn't my first reaction. I was very pleased to know that I did turn out to be the better man, but because of the feelings that made me do right by her, I'd probably turn right back her way, nostalgically, should my current girlfriend and I go south. It would beat trying to fertilize a third relationship with someone new in a year.

But she'll probably see at some point that I've changed, and the kindness she got from me was partly because of insecurity and a need to please, two things I grew out of even before we separated.

I'm sure you'd be a mild exception, but at the same time I don't see how a tad bit of length, maybe as far as your jawline, as looking bad.

Oh, and ponytails. They're efficient and well suited if your forehead isn't gapingly huge.

On a side note, Kayla admitted she made a mistake letting me go. There's a mild sense of satisfaction and yet some turmoil right now, since she asked me back and I had to tell her no.
