Quiz Bowl at Cornell University.That is what I spent my day doing. I went to, and participated in, a Quiz Bowl at Cornell University.Those of you who don't know what that is, it is a simple team game of ten games, consisting of misc. knowledge questions, from chemistry to philosophy, and literature to sports. Teams consist of four people. A single game consists of 20 questions, plus probably about 30 bonus questions. Each question is worth 10 points. At the end of a game, the team with the most points wins. No, my school did not win every game. We only won three. But if it helps, most of my school is retarded. Out of the four people on our team, only two people answered questions. We may not have won every game, but it was still awesome. I love playing this, mainly because it puts my knowledge of literature, cinema, and Wikipedia to great use. This may be vain, but I love showing off my intelligence. And this is the perfect way to do it. So I may be a nerd, but god damn do I love it. I wish they had a tournament every weekend, because I would totally go. That is all. Aaron. |
