Its not like I need no direction...

...I just know that life's not so bad.

Hey kiddos.

So as I'm sure at least some of you are aware of, there's a nonprofit organization called To Write Love On Her Arms that is very near and dear to my heart, given that their purpose is to spread awareness of and battle depression/suicide, especially in teens and young adults. As someone who struggled with major depression for most of my young life, you can see how the message of this organization strikes a very personal chord in my life.

Anywho, once a year in mid-November there's a national TWLOHA day, where people all over the country (I'd say the world, but I honestly don't know how far the message has spread into other countries and such, given that this nonprofit is mostly known in the USA's younger music scene) who support the movement literally write the word love on their arms to spread awareness. This is the 3rd year I've participated, and its amazing the impact it has on the people who I've come into contact with.

As some of you who follow me (or are my friend on facebook) might have noticed, I mentioned in a tweet this morning that my boss and many of my regular customers have been asking me (and complimenting me) on my new "tattoos" on my forearms. This then leads into me telling them a)that its just sharpie and b)why it is that I wrote love on my arms today. One of the women who asked me about it this morning almost started crying and gave me a hug - turns out her daughter tried to kill herself two months ago.

This is a very real problem in our society today, and I'm very proud to be a part of trying to get the word out.

Love is the movement.

With that in mind, I hope you're all having a lovely Friday the 13th. If you see a black cat, give it hug - it could be Grif.

I said something bad about Muslims. You immediately began a rant about all sorts of bad stuff in the bible (but stopped yourself midway). You're a liberal. You can't help it. It's a reflex reaction.

But, if you define a radical as someone who twists the teachings of their religion into something it's not, then Hasan was not a radical. He was just doing what his holy book tells him to do.

Like I said. That place is a cesspool. Good luck trying to get me to drag my ass down there.

NYU? You mean like New York?

Yeah, I'm not going down to that cesspool unless you get to Connecticut at the very least.

Maybe I was a bit too harsh on that one. I thought it was fucking hilarious, but I won't be surprised if you're really broken right now cause of that burnage.

No wait, I remember! You're going to Virginia, aren't you?

Free verse is for emo kids. Oh wait...lawlz. Nevermind.

I know you were planning on hitting the East Coast, where there are no fault lines, but how close exactly do you plan to be? I need to safeguard my house from shit music bombardment.

If you fly out on Wednesday I'm sure it wouldn't be a problem to catch a ride with spamman, and Casey lives there, and I'm sure that there will be the Jengabus again this year, as well as MichyGeary, Fienne and all of them. Seriously, I bet at least 50 attendees pass through Buffalo on their way, finding a ride will not be tough and everyone is really friendly.
