Sunday Night Football, Week 9

This week it's the (How 'Bout Them) Cowboys and the Eagles.

Quick Take

Cowboys, Eagles battle for first place in NFC East

In Brief

» Last meeting: Philadelphia earned the NFC's final playoff berth with a 44-6 beatdown of the Cowboy's in last year's regular season finale.

» Streaks: The Eagles have won four of the past six meetings, but still trail the overall series, 55-44, including the playoffs.

» Last week: Philadelphia made a statement by clobbering rival New York, 40-17. ... Tony Romo spread the ball around as five different Cowboys scored in a 38-17 win over Seattle.

Jason Witten's impact: Philadelphia's defense has played very well for the most part this season, but if there is one glaring weakness it is the unit's inability to stop opposing tight ends. Players ranging from Kellen Winslow to Zach Miller to Fred Davis have torched the Eagles already this year. Witten is more accomplished than all of those players and could play a significant role in this game.

Dallas' level of belief: After having their season end in such disheartening fashion at Lincoln Financial Field last year, the Cowboys must not let any residual effects from that outing linger. The Eagles thrive on burying teams with shaky confidence and they will pounce if they notice the Cowboys are at all unsure of themselves.

DeSean Jackson's big-play ability: The speedy returner/receiver has scored six touchdowns this season and all six have been from at least 50 yards. He is one of the league's fastest and most explosive threats and the Cowboys have to be aware of where he is at all times.

Did you know?

Romo has won 12 consecutive Nov. starts. ... DeMarcus Ware's 39 sacks since 2007 are the second-most in the NFL over that span. ... Eagles QB Donovan McNabb has won 11 of his past 16 starts against Dallas. ... Since 2005, Asante Samuel leads the NFL with 28 interceptions.
THE RULES

Make a final score prediction in the comments. The pick must be unique, so check previous posts before you place yours. Entries must be submitted no later than 5:00 PM Pacific Time (8:00 PM Eastern) on game day to count.

The winner is the person whose final score is closest to the actual score of the game, with the correct winning team. Winners will receive three leader board points.

Mathematical ties are possible, so ties on scores get all players involved in the tie two leader board points.

Runners up who select the correct winning team will each receive one leader board point.

My achievements tell the Xbox 360 Story. The usual suspects from Nintendo. I';ve barely touched my PS2 since I got it. I've missed out on all the great exclusive Sony franchises. Lucky for me that they'll all be on the 360 soon.

QQ is a gaming term, stems from people whining in a video game about something not being fair. Sometimes you will see people say something along the lines of "Less QQ more PEW PEW"

PEW PEW being the sound that lasers make, and meaning doing your job of shooting things...

Oh, you definitely have not lost a contestant. Ben and my anniversary was the 2nd - he took a couple days off and we enjoyed a nice 4 day weekend. =D

I'm back now, though! Woot.
