One of the best RT podcasts you guys have run. Great topics, loves the flow. More like this please

This was a fantastic podcast. Was a great departure from the norm and covered topics that I really find interesting, but talked about by people I actually want to listen to. Thanks to the RT crew and Mr. Rogan.

The echo honestly didn't even really bug me.

Was I the only one that immediately thought of annoying adds when they started talking about looking up information inside your head? Due to the fact that you'd be using something you wont be able to completely control because you wont know how it really works under the hood.

    • rbpatrick

This is very true, but Something that is programmed into my body I'd want to have complete control over because if I can't control something in my own body that is giving someone else who knows what they're doing power over you. NOTHING IS HACK PROOF FOREVER.

You pretty much just described every person who uses any technology or machine in existence. 99% of people don't care how it works, they just care that it does work. And because of that most would just deal with something like an ad.

I didn't know who Joe Rogan was before this "Partycast". But after listening to this stimulating conversation about the future of technology I hope that you guys do another Podcast together. Thank you guys for providing this excellent and interesting content.

I stared watching this to check it out, but ten, or so, minutes in and I couldn't bring myself to leave. It was just too interesting.

This was a fucking phenomenal podcast! I started it up with pretty low expectations thanks to the shitty location, but, wow. These guys all had some fantastic chemistry and points to make. Hope we'll be seeing more of the partycast really really soon!

Excellent podcast. They really touched on some profound ideas. Would've listened to a full length podcast and more with this cast.

I really really wanted to sit through the whole thing but that echo, man. God, did it kill the experience

This was just kinda weird for me because I just finished reading "The Circle" by Eggers for a class.
Basic summary: In the not-so-distant future, a company called "The Circle" creates an online system called TruYou, which basically unified all internet activity, tied it to all your personal info, and eliminated anonymity on the internet. Then proceeds to expand and sorta take over the world in a weird "No such thing as privacy" sort of way.

    This was a fun podcast.
They talked about a Collective human consciousness, I am not for that, that technology every becomes real I will personally start a resistance against it.

    • the_Craig FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

why? If unforced why fight against it. I personally want to remain as who i am, but i can see a huge benefit in a gain a better understanding of everyone else around me.

I'd love to know if the only reason we have secrets is because other people have secrets.

Lets go back to the home podcasts. They're so much better, these other "away" podcasts aren't nearly as good as they normally are. The regular podcasts have better more entertaining topics and funny but ludicrous insights. And put Geoff on one even for a minute or two!

  • BadPenny69

The things they're talking about have been featured in some movies already.

Watch Strange Days. It goes into recorded memories and people's experiences being sold to the public. Some of it is sold only on the black market because it's illegal material. Some people are the equivalent of drug junkies for this stuff.

Also watch a movie called Surrogates. It's about people living their lives through these android bodies.

I enjoyed this. Very unexpected lineup of people to have together. I feel like Gus absolutely hated it up there though his insides were melting being in this social situation. He kept it together well though.

I was bored. Ive listened to both podcasts separately in the past. I thought it would be fascinating considering I enjoy both sets. Nah, didnt work out that way. RT sticks to the comedic side while Rogan is comedy with more philosophy.

Seriously fascinating. I'm definitely going to check out Joe's podcast and I hope we get some more glimpses of discussions similar to this.

I get the feeling Burnie is an independent, but more liberal than conservative. This may be common knowledge for the rest of the community, but not me. Either way, much more entertaining to listen to than the last podcast.

  • DezMC FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

RT Podcast is usually just an entertaining hour of my time per week with real world discussions of the advancement of technology and the like. I was so glad to have Burnie and Gus be part of a discussion that's a little more transcendental than the podcast is used to.

I'm going to have to go against the flow on this one - this was one of the most cringe-worthy podcasts I've ever heard. These guys not only made Gavin look smart, but they dragged Burnie and Gus (who, while not rocket scientists, are sharp insightful guys) down with them.

It was like being perfectly sober while listening to a bunch of frat boys smoking their first joint.

    • rbpatrick

Although you have to admire the look of passion in Gus' face haha.

"make some noise" is a very appropriate description of what happens in this video. I loved the discussion but man was the sound shit. Obviously not Roosterteeth's fault though. They did a decent job dealing with less than ideal circumstances. Makes me appreciate all the work that is done on the RT podcast to get it to look and sound good. Sadly the jobs that make that happen often go unnoticed until something goes wrong. Shout out to the RT podcast crew!!!

This is my only issue: I don't want to hear "fuck" multiple times in one sentence. Am I the only one here that finds that annoying? What's the point?

    • the_Craig FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

The 11 years is relevant regardless of how long most users have watched it. It's a matter of telling them to change what they are doing, despite the fact that it's their non censored personalities that have kept them around so long.

I also feel the need to add that i've only ever seen 4 comments from you now, and you have used profanity in 2/4 of them.

    • ForevrBluFalcon FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

respect us? you are the only one complaining, have you even bought their "shitty merchandise"? you aren't a sponsor so you aren't paying the bills so who of us have you taken the right to speak for?

    • SH4DOWL1NK

Is it? A real adult would act respectful around the people that buy your shitty merchandise and pay your bills. Or are you cramming as many vulgar words into a sentence to mock me?

    • ForevrBluFalcon FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

lol Well fuck my ass, that's some deep shit you just said their motherfucker.

    • SH4DOWL1NK

What does 11 years have to do with it? I'm sure 90% of the "fans" haven't been watching for 11 years. Most of them don't even know what the meaning of Rooster Teeth is. I can complain about whatever I want regardless of any preconceived notions you may have about the staff's behavior. It's childish cursing just to act tough because it isn't funny to hear grown men curse every sentence.

    • the_Craig FIRST Member Star(s) Indication of membership status - One star is a FIRST member, two stars is Double Gold

It's not that it's full of youngsters, it's that it's full of Roosterteeth fans. Roosterteeth has always been about not overly censoring themselves, so to complain about it in a roosterteeth comment section after 11 years of this kind of language seems a bit silly.

    • SH4DOWL1NK

It's not a new thing, but it's just like they don't care who listens to them anymore. You guys don't need to be jerks about it. I was only pointing it out. I suppose it's hazardous to voice a negative opinion in a community filled with youngsters.

It's actually exactly what I was hoping. They usually tend to be relatively surface level with their conversations, often avoid getting too deep into discussions that people might have strongly different opinions about (namely politics) but Joe tends to go really deep. I'm glad they all went with the flow it made for a great talk and I hope they'll get together again, under better sound conditions.

What Burnie was saying about being able to record people's memories and play them back reminds me of an episode of the British tv show "Black Mirror" that covered the subject in a pretty bleak way.

Yeah I was able to sit through the whole thing live but at a cursory listen it seems they managed to suppress the sound of the chatter in the crowd, which is what made it hard to hear at parts for me. May have to listen to this one again soonish when I have the time.

I would love to see Joe as a guest on the RT podcast set for the full time, and since I listen to Joe's podcast as well I'd like to see Burnie go on that if he's ever out in LA. Sort of a cool mix between my two favorite podcasts.
