Looking back at this podcast, I still find myself laughing at their depiction of Canada. Zero degrees may be cold to someone who lives in Texas, but after enduring -60 degree weather, it's fantastic.

for some of us a comfortable room temperature is 10 degrees C, (or 50 F) and wouldn't give up the snow for anything.
which btw I'm still waiting for here in southern Manitoba.

In response to Gus’s question about why people live in Canada; It’s because we can’t stand the Texas heat in the summer, so we take the Canadian cold in the winter.
There’s a reason the nickname for Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada is WINTERpeg, maniSNOWba, canaDAMN IT’S COLD.

-20F is much further away from a comfortable temperature than 100F is.

It's off topic, but Broken Arrow changed my perception of John Travolta. Until then he was a baby face good guy (ok, baby face may be stretching it). Again...off topic but should be mentioned....

Geoff, re: Fantastic Mister Fox - I'm with you.

20 minutes in my 3 y.o daughter turns to me and says "I want to home now"; that's it - we are out of there.

(we "went to the movie, got popcorn, all that stuff, boring movie = bored daughter")

Pity I think I would have liked to have seen it through to the end - just to see it to the end.

Just a note: I'm going to start posting recaps of the Drunk Tanks in my journal, more for my sake than anyone else's. I just hate when I want to listen to a great story or quote and have no idea where to find it, eg Geoff's massage parlor story.

I'm thinking they were in Edmonton because we just had a ton of snow here last week and they shut down where all the accidents would be, we've got a winding road leading into the downtown area with two hotels right next to it, and Bioware needs someone to fix that stupid ass Mass Effect 2 trailer they released...

I got a kick out of your mention of american airlines putting a big ad about up in the air in their magazine....mostly because I work for them, and they sent each of us some email bragging about "our product's role" in the movie, which was basically just a big ad directed at their own employees. "OMG we're so proud of our aeroplanes and ticket machines being in a movie!!!11!"

Kick-Ass: Awesome comic. Written by Mark Millar, drawn by John Romita Jr, Produced by Marvel under their "Icons" brand. You got the basic story right - it's about this kid who dreams about being a superhero. This is what he wants to be "when he grows up." One day he decides to go for it, and it's all about his initial failures, the struggle of the dual identity, his rise to fame, meeting other "supers," and meeting his arch nemesis. If the movie is anything like the comics, it will be extremely bloody and gory - it really deserves a red line trailer.
