Begiragons is the channel that did the "Most Popular Combo" video series. I was subscribed to them until the original members, Megwin, Bandy, and Falcon, left to focus on their Japanese-only channel and a bunch of English-speaking people took over and started doing bad comedy skit kind of stuff. It's still well worth it to go back and watch their old series like the hamburger game, gashapon game, vending machine game, etc. But just don't bother with anything from the last 9 months. It's just sad.

The only Americans I can think of who have had more popularity in Australia than the US are, currently, David Strassman and Arj Barker. Both are comedians and they come back to Australia repeatedly especially during Comedy festivals.

Don Lane is the only American who I can think of that had a significant run on Australian TV during the 70's and 80's. I can still remember him hosting Super Bowl broadcasts for Australian audiences in the 90's.

[This is not an insult post,.. please don't let me be misunderstood.]

This pod-cast (the whole thing) smacked of an RT office meeting on camera.

I was drawn into this episode as if I were an intern trying to get my bearings.

This may be the rare one,.. all guards are let down, and company is comfortable,..

I like it. But I didn't feel a part of it.

(But I do Love Babs' reactions to Gavin's verbal diarrhea.)

Ok. One time is happenstance, two times is coincidence, three times is a pattern. Gavin is starting each podcast by zipping up his pants. Wonder if hes wondering how long it'll take people to notice. Is it because he almost always about to be late and has to rush to the bog and rush to set?

I have watched Arrival too much. I almost got mad at Burnie for conflating two of my favourite little moments. I'm also a translator and that film was one long love letter/heroic epic to my profession... Here's those moments in full (spoilers).

The war on horses: “Ask him the Sanskrit word for ‘war,’ and its translation,” The other linguist said “gavisti” - means “an argument,” Hero translator lady translates the same word as “a desire for more cows.”

That the story is actually horseshit: An explorer is getting some essential discovering done in Australia, and asks his aboriginal guide "what's that bouncing animal called?" The guide looks at the animal and says "kangaroo." Only later does the explorer find out that "kangaroo" means "no fuckin' idea, mate" in the guide's native tongue.

In reference to the Americans famous in England but not here (1:06:00 ish), seems like there is a reoccurring handful of people on British panel shows who have American accents, but I had never seen before. Reginald D. Hunter and Katherine Ryan (though I think she's technically Canadian, but close enough) seem like the most common.

I thought that was the case with Rich Hall too, but apparently he is relatively well known in the US and I just didn't know him.

The thing about Flint, Michigan is that it could happen literally anywhere. Sure, you might live in a (relatively) new house or apartment (the last apartment I lived in was built in the late '70s and the house I live in now was built in 1952, people don't really think about how old the buildings they occupy are), and the pipes that are directly connected to your house might be (relatively) new, but they still connect back to the existing infrastructure. The majority of the piping infrastructure in this country was installed right around World War II, about 70 years ago. Flint didn't happen because their pipes were made out of lead, Flint happened because chemicals got into the water supply which caused lead to leach from the pipes into the water. ALL THE PIPES are made out of lead. Even if you live in a brand new house which is directly connected to brand new pipes, those pipes are still connected to the existing infrastructure, so the water in your house got there by travelling through lead pipes.

Not defending the apple earbuds at all, but going wireless is a fucking bliss. Imagine all the times when you're trying to sprint out of the room and the earphones cable gets stuck on a door knob, not only does it rip your ears out, it also ruins your day. That being said, there is a lot of better options than Apple AirPods or what ever they are called

for things like AIDS and breast cancer, everyone already knows what they are so raising awareness is more or less pointless, but for things like ehlers danlos, dysautonomia, and fibromyalgia, almost no one (even a lot of doctors) don't know what they are and they need a lot more awareness so that people can not just get treatment but also believed as well, a lot of chronically ill people get told its all in their head and that they're exaggerating (especially if they're a woman or PoC).

Are you saying it was made up for the movie or her character in the movie used the story which at one point was a real life but incorrect explanation for it, and does she give the whole explanation or does she just say "kangaroo" means "I don't know"? Because I know I'd heard that story many years ago. Just asking clarification, sad to say I have yet to but I am dying to see the movie.
