Man, just re-watching the Brexit part makes me sad. These smart young people are trying to save the future, but the stupid, mostly old, people are trying to destroy the future, which they have to live for less of. The result of this was just fucking ridiculous.

This is seriously the first RT podcast I've watched, and I'm dying over here. I got to vaganus and had to pause while trying not to choke on my drink. I regret not watching any of these sooner. The bit about CRISPR made the hair on my arms stand up. I had heard about DNA printing and gene modification just a little bit, but...wow, the implications here are truly staggering.

I just wanted to say that Sally is wrong and Brandon is right about us still being in an ice age. Technically anytime that there are polar icecaps on the Earth, it is considered an ice age

He's right. She's an evolutionary biologist, so I don't blame her for not knowing the definition of ice age, but, from a climatology perspective, we have been in an ice age for millions of years. We are currently in an interglacial period, meaning the ice caps are relatively small.

the begining of 2 towers(the book) is literaly worse than all of fellowship. I got through fellowship and could not get through the begining of 2 towers because of how long and drawn out it was. In my opinion The Hobbit was better than fellowship and what i read of 2 towers.

Never really held it against her for getting the plane on ice/treadmill wrong :) she seems to be much more heavily into biology than physics. The only reason I knew the answer to that one was because the Mythbusters covered it YEARS ago. They did a full scale experiment and literally put a plane on a treadmill. Took off without a problem. Simple physics.

Before my rant and talk about my problems. I gotta say, this episode was incredible. It was funny, educational and amazing. =)

Betakaroten, my ex used a shit ton of stuff that added that substance. And when she started getting colour, it would always be orangish. She's got gingerish hair, and always had tons and tons of freckles. She can never get tan. She will get burnt. But never tan.

And in my case. I have a chronic disease. Called Celiac disease. Which is a mutation. Which happens in a loooooot of people. But it usually flares up in infants and people above 55-60 years old. I got it at about 20years of age (which isn't normal by far). My doctor thinks it has caused most of my problems since i was 13-14 years old.(including a lot of sickness, and towards the end, i had pneumonia 2-3 times a year, for about 3 years.)
I am now 28 and first now I'm starting to work like a normal human being again.

When it first flared up, i lost 45kg's in 3 months. Much longer and it could have taken my life. But after changing my usual doctor. They caught on to what it was. I went trough all the proper tests, and figured i couldn't eat gluten or lactose anymore (god damn i miss a proper pizza or kebab) But that's about it. Because it was noticed so late, it took years... Lots of years, before my body normalised. But finally i am there. 7-8 years later.

Mutations and diseases can be a fucking pain. This disease doesn't carry any, "you are sure to die" elements. Like cancer can. But it has robbed me of around 50-65% of my life. And i am 28(in a couple months)

Which i can honestly say is a bitch.

You at Rooster Teeth has given me a lot of inspiration and happiness. Trough my depression and sickness.

Thank you a lot for this.

And i hope to join you all at an RTX in one of the following years. Wish you all the best.

Kasperky is the biggest pain in the arse anti-virus I've ever used. 100% recommend it for people who don't know what they're doing (e.g. the olds). If you're the type to use live binary/hex/whatever editors and keep track of the processes running it just gets in the way.

This is about Brandon's question about disease killing off a certain group of people.. Sickle Cell mutation (crescent shaped blood cells) is, in fact, highly, selected in populations from areas of the world were malaria is very frequent, with sometimes 10-40% of the population carrying this mutation. If the trait is passed from both parents however, you'd develop Sickle Cell anemia(which would drastically shorten your life) but if only one parent carries the trait you'd be more immune to malaria and live a fairly normal life.. a mutation that is beneficial is an anomaly
