Family DayWell Happy Family day.What is family day you ask? Well here in Ontario Canada we don't have enough stat holidays so the government with its infinite wisdom created another stat holiday in February so that there would be a long weekend in that month. Now that in itself i felt was a great idea. Another day I get paid that I don't have to go into work is totally fine by me. The only problem I have with it is the name. Family Day?....technically every day is family day except those of us with no family to go to or who's family is out of country. It also leaves me to wonder how the commercialists are going to exploit this new "holiday". Will there be family day cakes? Cards? a special tree?......they should have just called it "Love Day" like on the Simpsons...oh wait we already have something like that, Valentines day. Wouldn't it have been a lot simpler just to make that the official day off? either way.....Happy Family Day to everyone. Hail Cobra! End Transmission. |
