why mod points are a bad idea:
they are a bad idea because probably 90% of the bad threads and flame/insult posts come from people that want a few cool, ditto or funny points. hopefully someone with the power to get rid of them well figure out that alot of the noob threads are from people that simply want a few pointless +1 cools or +1 funnies points. on alot of other forums there isnt as many insult posts. of course most other places have a search button and an edit button. this forum would probably be rather different if they didnt have mod points.
